San Francisco, CA |
|
As a fairly frequent visitor to San Francisco, it's
one of my favourite dining cities. With an infinite number of dining
options in a variety of price ranges, great service and a high Canadian
dollar, pack your bags and head for SF. |

Aqua
$$$$$ -
252 California Street
-The food and atmosphere is notably swanky and formal. Lots of
interesting ingredients and perfect executions. This is a good
splash-out dinner. |
Chez
Panisse (Berkeley)
$$$$$ - 1517
Shattuck Av - A restaurant that needs no introduction -
everything is perfect here, but you'll pay for the privilege.
|
Foreign Cinema

$$$$ -
2534 Mission St.
- Trendy with good food and a cool atmosphere. If you're looking
for sophisticated without the swakiness, this is a good choice.

Isobune
$$-$$$-
1737 Post Street (Japan Centre) - The canal boat sushi
restaurant, need I say more. |
|
Martuni's
4 Valencia St 2:00pm- 2:00am - a real live
piano bar, with people singing - no food, but good times. |
Pancho Villa
$-$$
- 3071 16th St - There's a few locations,
including another one on the Embarcadero. A good destination for
some quality California Mexican - I'll think of Pancho Villa
every time I eat a crappy Canadian imitation. |
Piperade
$$$$
-1015
Battery St. - Basque cuisine, in a semi-formal
environment. The chef is from Biarritz and the cuisine
authentic. Especially notable, a fairly extensive list of
obscure Basque wine |
The Ramp -
 $-$$855
China Basin St - It's just a bar, with an average looking menu,
but the location on the industrial waterfront is very cool. A
locals spot, don't tell anyone ya heard it from me. |
Rosamunde Sausage Factory and the Toranado Bar $
- 545 Haight St - Kick Ass sausages,
served takeaway style on a roll. Take your sausage next door to
the bar, and enjoy their extensive draught list |
